One-run innings in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings propelled the Terre Haute Rex to a 7-4 victory over the Springfield Sliders in a Prospect League game played at Robin Roberts Field on Thursday.

An Aaron Beck triple in the seventh inning broke the 4-all deadlock. Mitchell Garrity scored on the play after he was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.

A Brendan Sher RBI double in the eighth and a passed ball in the ninth inning augmented the Terre Haute lead.

Max Klein earned the win for Terre Haute, but Clayton Mayfield’s three scoreless innings of relief was what clinched the victory for the Rex as Mayfield earned a save the hard way.
