Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College softball won three games in the USCAA Small College World Series to advance to today’s championship round.

The Pomeroys defeated Carlow 2-0, Penn State-Brandywine 10-2 and Mississippi College For Women 2-1 to stay alive.

SMWC will have to beat Cleary twice today to win the championship. Cleary has already beaten the Pomeroys once.

The Pomeroys gave up just one hit against Carlow and then had 13 hits against Penn State-Brandywine. Against Mississippi University for Women, the lead was taken in the fifth inning via a Camyrn Scott groundout.

It is SMWC’s 15th trip to the USCAA championship game.
