The Terre Haute Rex summer baseball team defeated the host Chillicothe Paints for the second straight night Wednesday, earning a 5-3 decision in VA Stadium.

For the Rex, Brett McCleary and Ethan Hunter each went 2 for 5 — with McCleary belting his first home run of the season — while Jacob Mulcahy contributed a double and Reed Hjelle scored two runs. Winning pitcher was Logan DeWulf, who tossed three scoreless innings of relief.

Terre Haute is tied for third in the Prospect League's East Division with a 4-2 record, one game behind first-place Champion City and Lafayette. Chillicothe fell to 1-5.

The same teams will tangle at 7:05 p.m. Thursday in VA Stadium.
