FARMERSBURG — Walter Leon Pilant, 57, of Farmersburg went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 10, 2006. He was retired from Sears. He was born May 18, 1948, in Terre Haute to Donald Wayne Pilant and Carrie Mullins Pilant.

Survivors include his wife, Patty Taylor Pilant; his parents; two daughters, Michelle Curry and husband Brian of Greencastle, and Marci Holley and husband Jeff of Bartlesville, Okla.; one son, Bradley Pilant of Farmersburg; one brother, Virgil Pilant; and one sister, Rita Sisk.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion, Shelburn First Baptist Church, and Thunderbird Fire Department.

Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church in Shelburn, with the Rev. Michael Nave officiating. Burial is in Friendly Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Mattox-Fidler Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thunderbird Fire Department or Shelburn First Baptist Church.
