CASEY, Ill. — Timmy “Tim” G. Hammond, 58, of Casey, passed away at 1:47 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1956, in Terre Haute, Ind., the son of Morris G. Hammond and LaVaughn D. Cutright Hammond. On May 2, 1987, he married Donna Irene Koester in Englewood, Colo. She passed away on March 25, 2014.
Survivors include his brother, Rick G. Hammond of Casey, Ill.; nephew, Ricky D. Hammond and his family of Terre Haute, Ind.; aunts, Dena Harris of Englewood, Colo., and Pat Isle of Winfield, Iowa; and many cousins, caring neighbors and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna Hammond; uncles, Owen Hammond; and James, Leo and Terry Cutright; and aunts, Reba Laws, Hazel Woodard, Paralee Daughhetee, Madge Allentharp and Linda Kay Robey.
Tim was a 1975 graduate of Westfield High School and a graduate of Lake Land College. He was most recently employed by Wal-Mart at Charleston, Ill., as the meat department manager. Tim worked as an employment specialist for the Embarras River Basin Agency in Greenup, Ill., for over 18 years. He also worked for Assist and ADA in Terre Haute, Ind., placing disadvantaged workers in new jobs. Tim was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with friends at the Casey VFW.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 E. Colorado St., Casey, Ill., with Pastor Michael Kasting officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service in the church. Burial will be in the Casey Cumberland Cemetery at a later date.
