MARSHALL, Ill. — Lela J. Williams, 85, of Marshall, passed away 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012, in Union Hospital at Terre Haute, Ind. She was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Wabash Township of Clark County, Ill., the daughter of Fred L. Renner and Lauree E. Sachs Renner. She married Paul E. Williams on Sept. 30, 1950 at Marshall.

Surviving are her husband, Paul; a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Cindy Williams of Marshall; a grandson, Cody Williams of Marshall; and several other relatives. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Shaffer; and a brother, John Renner.

She served her community as a volunteer at the Marshall Food and Clothing Bank and loved to garden and work in her flower beds. She was a graduate of Marshall High School and had attended Brown’s Business College.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. CDT Saturday at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall. Cremation will follow with burial of cremains in Marshall Cemetery at a later date. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Food and Clothing Bank.
