Helen P. Menk, 90, of Terre Haute and formerly of Monticello died at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 at the Meadows Manor East Nursing Home in Terre Haute. She was born in Brook on Nov. 1, 1917 to Wilbur Putt and Lulu Welte.

On Aug. 25, 1940, in Delphi, she married Ralph Stover, and he preceded her in April 1975. Then she married Lance Menk of Monticello on Dec. 9, 1979, and he preceded her on March 6, 1996.

Survivors include a daughter, Bethany Kasselman and her husband Bill of Terre Haute; a stepson, Terry Menk and wife Cerina of Monticello; grandchildren, William and James Kasselman, both of Terre Haute; stepgrandchildren, Dawn Girard and her husband Aaron, Shannon Krashies and her husband Charlie, and Lori Green and her husband Craig, all of Monticello, and Jason Menk and Heather Menk, both of Lafayette; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Daniel Menk; sisters, Ruth Hanna and Elnora Wascher; and brothers, Junior and Harold Putt.

She had moved to the Terre Haute area two years ago to be closer to her daughter, Bethany, and her family. She had lived in Monticello most of her life, prior to moving to Terre Haute. She had worked at the old Byran Mfg. and retired from the old RCA Factory, both in Monticello. She was a member of the Monticello Christian Church, Christian Women Fellowship (CWF) of the church and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Monticello.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at the Miller-Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, with the Rev. Chris Dodson officiating. Visitation wll be 2 p.m. until the time of services, at the funeral home. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Riverview Cemetery in rural Monticello.
