George W. Posey, 67, of Terre Haute died at 4:18 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, in his home surrounded by his family. He founded Posey Enterprises, Midwest Printing and International Label Manufacturing and served as chairman and CEO for more than three decades.

He was born Feb. 9, 1939, in Spencer to John W. Posey and Ruth Pearcy Posey. Survivors include a very close and dear friend, Cecelia Myers of Terre Haute; three daughters and their husbands, Anna Jones of West Terre Haute, Laurie Taylor and her husband Scott, and Lisa Gonzales and her husband Robert, all of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Tom “T.J.” Jones Jr., Chris and Cierra Gonzales, and Brandon and Gracie Taylor, all of Terre Haute; sisters, Kathryn Weaver of Indianapolis and Mildred Roy of Lady Lake, Fla.; a brother, John Posey; a niece, Janet Vinzant and her husband Tim of Lady Lake; and two nephews, Wayne Weaver of Seymour and Gary Roy and his wife Maria of Loxahatchee, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Corwin Weaver.

He graduated from Center Grove School and attended Notre Dame. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and also served on numerous lithographic organizations, advisory boards and civic organizations throughout the years. He was a longtime member of the Greater Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce and the Country Club of Terre Haute.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. today in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with friends and family officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Meng, Keith Notestein, Mike Bly, Dwayne Henry, Wayne Weaver, Russ Laycock, Tom Seal and Dr. Noroozi.
