Geneva E. Bohley, 99, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 25, 1909, in Linton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Bohley, in July 1963; her parents, Joseph and Hattie Lynch; a sister, a brother, and one nephew.

She is survived by her five children, Joseph Bohley and wife Betty of Munster, Hester Morris, Elizabeth Sherer and husband Wayne, Mary Westfall and husband Paul, all of Terre Haute, and Sarah Johnson and husband James of Anderson. She also has 11 grandchildren, Susan Vincent, Jay Morris, Terry Maddox, Marsha Stiffey, Joe Stiffey, Karen Paulsrud, Mark Sherer, John Moffett, Kathy Grossmann, Jennifer Saxon, and Ann Green. Also surviving are 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Lida Rose Williams of Lady Lake, Fla.; and several cousins.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church at 14th and Chestnut streets until it closed, at which time she transferred her membership to Open Bible Baptist at Deming Center. She had been an active member of Bible Study Fellowship, as well as a member of TOPS. She also was involved in the Clown Ministry at United Methodist, and was an excellent seamstress for her children and grandchildren. She designed costumes for her granddaughters, as well as for others at the dancing school. She was a wonderful caregiver to many people throughout her lifetime.

Services are at noon Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St., with Mr. John Youngblood officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services Thursday. Burial will follow at Bohley Cemetery in Linton. Jean’s grandsons, and great-grandson will assist as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her wonderful caregivers at Southwood, as well as, Martha Scott, and Bethann Burger. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests, donations be made to the Maryland Community Church, or to the charity of your choice.
