SULLIVAN — Dorothy L. Boothe, 80, of Sullivan passed away at 9:58 a.m. Friday Nov. 16, 2007, at Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was born in Sullivan County, on July 8, 1927, the daughter of Robert Donald Rich and Daisy F. Miller Rich.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sullivan since 1960, she was a co-owner and operator of Boothe Studio with her husband Joe, the Home Extension Club (Modern Manner), Clown for the First United Methodist Church Clown Troop (Polka Dot), member of the Center Ridge Cemetery Board, Past United Methodist Women’s President, she was a Santa Claus helper for the elementary school, nursing homes and Church, a member of the Garden Club in Sullivan, the Ground Hog Club, past Woman of the Year for the Republican Women’s Club, a volunteer at the Sullivan County Community Hospital, a member of the Sullivan County Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Blaine Boothe in 1995, also a brother, John Rich and two sisters, Minnie Rich Fisher and Sylvia Rich.

Survivors include one son, Jonathan Boothe and wife Mary of Savannah, Ga.; two daughters, JoEllen “Joie” Schoonover and husband Jeffrey of Platteville, Wis., Lisa McCarty and husband Sean of Sandborn, Ind.; three brothers, James Rich and wife Mary of Tennessee, Ray Rich and wife Nancy of Lake Station, Ind., Earl Rich and wife Linda of Wheatfield, Ind.; three sisters, Mary Pruitt of Wheatfield, Elizabeth Martin and husband Ken of Hobart, Ind., Norma Coons and husband Keith of Portage; five grandchildren, Jessie Ann, and Blaine Autstin Scully, Madison Leigh McCarty, David Joseph Schoonover and Ella Grace Boothe.

A Memorial Service will be 7 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dan Sinkhorn officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Cremation is scheduled, a private burial will be conducted at a later date in the Center Ridge Cemetery. Banks and Brust Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
