A March 8 trial date has been set for a man accused of attempted murder in a March shooting in the 1300 block of South 12th Street.
Tony Lynn England, 39, appeared in Vigo Superior Court Division 6 on Tuesday where his public defender withdrew a request for bail reduction. England’s bail has been set at $100,000, with no 10 percent allowed.
Judge Michael Lewis set a new trial date of 1:30 p.m. March 8, with a pre-trial conference on Feb. 2.
England has been charged with class-A felony attempted murder, and robbery resulting in bodily injury and carjacking, both class-B felonies.
A probable cause affidavit states that on March 23, a Terre Haute man was attacked at the home of England by a man and woman who beat him, took his wallet, money and car keys, and stole his 1997 Dodge Avenger.
Witnesses also reported seeing England fire a revolver at the alleged victim when he ran out of England's house. The man was transported to Union Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Meanwhile, the other man and woman involved in the case, Anthony Earl Cross, 36, and Melissa Dawn Howe, 29, have been charged with robbery and carjacking for their alleged involvement.
They both remain in the Vigo County Jail.
