The public can learn about the struggles and victories that members of Vigo County's recovery community have faced in their journey away from addiction on Saturday (June 22) at the Vigo County Public Library in Terre Haute.

"Faces & Voices of Recovery, a Public Event" will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is presented by the Wabash Valley Recovery Alliance.

The event aims to educate the public on the challenges that people in recovery face and advocates to remove the stigma and discrimination faced by individuals and families impacted by alcohol and drug addiction.

"Through sharing their stories, recovery community members connect with one another, empower those who are still struggling by letting them know that they are not alone and show that recovery from addiction is possible," organizers say.

The public is welcome. Refreshments and a light lunch will be served.
