A Dana man was arrested after an auto accident Monday afternoon (June 10) near Vermillion County Roads 500 South and 50 West, according to the sheriff's office.
Dennis "DJ" Price was arrested just before 2:20 p.m. and booked on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operator never licensed, resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct, Sheriff Mike Phelps said in a news release. Bond was set at $7,000, 10 percent allowed.
A deputy and an Indiana conservation officer responded to a report of a vehicle rollover accident. Prior to their arrival, they were advised that Price was the driver and that he had fled on foot, the sheriff said. A short time later, Price called a family member requesting an ambulance.
Police located Price at a residence in Dana. While waiting for the ambulance to arrive, Price fled out of the back of residence and was taken into custody after a short foot chase, according to the sheriff's office.
