The cause of death for an Illinois toddler remains undetermined after an autopsy Tuesday in Marion County.
Marion County Chief Deputy Coroner Alfarena T. Ballew said the cause of death and manner of death for 2-year-old Landon Weaver have not been determined.
“We are waiting for additional test results to come back before we will be able to determine a final cause and manner of death,” Ballew told the Tribune-Star via email.
The toddler was airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis on Nov. 5. An online posting on fundraising website GoFundMe.com, which has a page dedicated to the medical expenses for Weaver, stated that the child suffered “multiple traumatic injuries, the result of a severe beating.”
Illinois State Police are investigating how the child was injured. On Tuesday, police reported that no information is available for release to the public.
