With Thanksgiving only days away, we want something that is quick and easy. I know I always did. I made this a couple of times. It’s really good and so easy. The pie filling is sugar-free for diabetics. There is sugar-free cake mix now so that’s so easy. This comes from the Willow Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Martinsville, Ill. Barbara Kannmacher sent me the book. The recipe was put in by Marlene Wilhoit. This is so good warm with ice cream.
Simple Crock Pot Dessert
**1 (21 ounce) can cherry or apple pie filling
1 (18 1⁄4 ounce) yellow cake mix
1⁄2 cup margarine (melted)
1⁄3 cup walnuts or pecans (chopped)
• Place pie filling in slow cooker.
• Combine dry cake mix and margarine (mixture will be crumbly) and sprinkle over filling. Sprinkle with nuts.
• Cover and cook on low 2 to 3 hours. Serve in bowls.
Make 10-2 servings.
** Use any pie filling your family likes. Can use different cake mixes. Try as-is first.
