Judy Brown, clinical director of the Human Resources Center of Clark and Edgar counties in Illinois, and Jim Harper, director of the 222 Christian Counseling Ministries will be the featured presenters at the second of the Modern Life Issues series at First United Methodist Church, at Seventh and Plum streets in Marshall, Ill. The discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday, in the chapel of the church.

Brown will give information as to how and where those with gambling, recreational drug or alcohol addictions can find help locally.

Harper will present a Christian perspective on how these addictions can be addressed. He also will advise on where Christian counseling can be found in the area.

Child care will be provided. There will be a question-and-answer time after the presentations and an opportunity to speak privately with the counselors.

There will not be a Modern Life Issues meeting in December. The series of meetings will resume in January. Contact Priscilla Wieck at (217) 826-5161 or at p.wieck@mchsi.com.
