Area tuba/sousaphone, euphonium/baritone and trombone players are invited to participate in the Lincoln Trail College Music Department/Crawford County Arts Merry TubaChristmas Concert Dec. 1.

The annual event, held in conjunction with LTC’s annual Santa Day festivities, is open to musicians of all ability levels who are able to sight-read moderately well.

Performing Arts Coordinator Yvonne Newlin looks forward to directing TubaChristmas veterans as well as new members to the group.

“It’s a great opportunity to for the public to start feeling the Christmas spirit, and the kids attending Santa Day events enjoy it,” Newlin said.

Registration and rehearsal begin at 1 p.m. in the Zwermann Arts Center Theater. The public is invited to the free performance at 3 p.m. For information, call the college at (618) 544-8457, ext. 1433.

Lincoln Trail College’s Music and Community Education departments will present their annual winter youth recitals at 1:30 and 3 p.m. CST Dec. 2 in the Zwermann Arts Center Theater.

Participants include Roxanne Kessler, Maris Rodgers, Cecilia Slane, Amber Hillard, James Hillard, Corban Duncan, Callie Duncan, Shad Tracy, Jacob Tracy, Preston Ireland, Mason McKee, Nyah Laino, Zander Laino, John Wyckoff, Peter Scott, Clara Russell, Noah Dart, Trey Potts, Sydney Guyer, Grant Oxford, Kayla Reibold, Alison Austin, Henry Treadway, Sarah Rynke, Jennifer Heldebrandt, Will Newlin, Jess Newlin, Cara Atienza, Lauren Atienza, Connor Holmes, Daniel Wyckoff, Jessica Wyckoff, Joseph Scott, Jennifer Heldebrandt, Kaitlyn Murphy and Kinsey Fear.

These piano, vocal and violin students are instructed by Brenda Harris, Dee Wesley, Monica Hilderbrand and Barbara Shimer.
