The Martinsville Public Library District will be hosting “A Visit to Illinois Amish Country” at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 6. The program will be presented by Raymond Bial, an Illinois author and photo-illustrator.

Bial will present a panoramic slide presentation of Illinois Amish Country, in which audience members will glean insightful glimpses into Amish life and culture and become aware of common misconceptions. Those attending also will be able to enjoy Bial’s beautiful photographs.

This program is one of the events planned by the library in conjunction with the Art and Architecture in Illinois Libraries Traveling Exhibit to be on display Nov. 4 through Nov. 30.

Please plan to attend this wonderful program. Mr. Bial’s presentation is made possible by a grant through the Road Scholar Program of the Illinois Humanities Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Illinois General Assembly.

The Art and Architecture of Illinois Libraries Traveling Exhibit is funded by the Illinois State Library, a Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the federal Library Services and Technology Act and by Eastern Illinois University, Booth Library.
