Terre Haute veteran honoredby Quilt of Valor Foundation

Vietnam Army veteran Ron Parker of Terre Haute was honored by Quilt of Valor Foundation on Feb. 28 at the Quilters Guild of Indianapolis South.

Parker was nominated for his service in 1966 and 1967 in Vietnam by Jeanette Bagley, who made and presented the quilt. Parker served as an E-5 specialist, a sergeant and received seven medals, including a Bronze Star in Army Accommodation.

Quilt of Valor Foundation, a nationwide organization established in 2003, honors veterans for their service. The gesture is intended to express a heartfelt thanks to former military men and women for the sacrifices they made for their country.
