From the Museum Archives: May 20, 2023

Following the demand for a new Catholic high school in Terre Haute, Archbishop Paul C. Schulte approved a new co-ed high school to be built and named in his honor. The first class of 256 students arrived in 1953. Although other high schools in Terre Haute consolidated in 1971, Schulte was able to hang on through financial strain until 1977.
