With many schools on break and families traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Terre Haute Children’s Museum will have special hours and activities for museum entry and the Ropes Challenge Course.
The operation schedule is as follows:
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Ropes, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Sunday: Noon to 5 p.m.; Ropes, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Ropes, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Ropes, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Nov. 22: Closed
Nov. 23: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Ropes, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Nov. 24: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Ropes, 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Nov. 25: Noon to 5 p.m.; Ropes, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The museum will resume its regular operating schedule on Nov. 27.
The museum’s education team will host programming events throughout the week.
Learning Lab: Stormy Summer: This final Learning Lab session will be electrifying. Children can explore the types of thunderstorms and how they become severe with a team of museum staff and a weather expert. They can experiment with heat during hands-on activities. This session is from 9 a.m. to noon Friday and Saturday ($10 for members, $15 for nonmembers; advance registration required).
Hands-On Science: Exploring Birds: Tis the season for turkey and other winged friends. Children can explore birds from beak to tail feathers with a variety of hands-on science activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Nov. 24 (included with admission).
The museum is at Eighth Street and Wabash Avenue.
Admission is free for members and children under 24 months. Regular admission is $8 for adults and children over 24 months. Families who participate in qualifying assistance programs can enroll in the Access Pass program, which allows them to visit the museum for just $2 per family member per visit.
