Mike Lunsford at Bloomfield-Eastern Greene Public Library June 20

Newspaper columnist and author Mike Lunsford will present “Why History?” at 6 p.m. June 20 in the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene County Public Library Annex at 87 E. Spring St., Bloomfield.

The program is part of the Friends of the Library’s 25th-anniversary celebration of the library’s addition. After the presentation, Lunsford will sign “Field Notes and Other Stories,” a collection of stories released in late 2017, and his five earlier books.

Lunsford, a retired history teacher, is a writer and photographer from rural southern Parke County. His human interest column, “The Off Season,” is regularly published in the Terre Haute Tribune-Star. He also contributes a monthly photo feature, as well as monthly “Nature’s Moments” photographs to the Tribune-Star.
