Artists Katie Hargrave and Brett Hunter will be presenters for Art Chatter on Tuesday, the next in Art Spaces’ series of dialogues about public art.  

Art Chatter will begin at 5:15 p.m. in the Terre Haute Brewing Co., 401 S. Ninth St. Admission is free and open to the public and no reservation is required. Food and beverages can be purchased from the menu.

Hargrave is an artist and educator based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Hunter is an artist, educator and facilitator living in Hornell, New York. Together they form a collaborative, “Like Riding a Bicycle,” and have participated in exhibitions and public events including Downstreet Arts in North Adams, Massachusetts; Coop Gallery in Nashville, Tennessee; Greenway Glow in Minneapolis, Minnesota; the Hornell Community Arts Center in Hornell; and Causeway Challenge in Chattanooga, among others. 

Hargrave received a master of fine art degree in intermedia from the University of Iowa, a master of art in cultural production from Brandeis University and a bachelor of fine art in art history and painting from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. She maintains an individual studio practice in Chattanooga. 

Hunter received a bachelor of art degree in history and art from Kalamazoo College in Michigan and a master of fine art in sculpture from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He is co-director of the Hornell Community Arts Center and co-founder of Broadway Union, an arts programming organization and set of physical spaces dedicated to linking artists and their work with the varied communities of Hornell, supporting committed citizens and their role in shaping the places they live.
