A female driver was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital then transported by Lifeline helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital after a two-vehicle crash this afternoon.

A semi tractor-trailer was pulled off on the right shoulder of the northbound lane of U.S. 41 near Honey Creek Commons. The woman was driving a maroon sedan in the northbound lane about 2 p.m. when her vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of the semi, which was stopped.

Indiana State Police along with five fire department vehicles responded. Traffic, which was backed up for at least a mile south of the accident, is now moving in both northbound lanes of U.S 41.
