Parke County and Indiana State Police scanner traffic reported a bank robbery around 1:30 p.m. today in Montezuma.

Parke County Sheriffs Deputy Justin Salisbury arrested a suspect who allegedly robbed a First Financial Bank shortly after the robbery without incident. Police caught up with the suspect about 10 minutes after the robbery. He was stopped about 1 mile west of Mecca on Hixon Road.

The suspect is Albert B. Jones of Evansville. Police said Jones gave a First Financial teller a note that said "give me cash or die." It's unclear if he was armed, but police did find the note, the cash and a revolver-type pistol that turned out to be a bb gun in the vehicle.

The bank has no comment at this time, and it's unclear if the bank will be open Thursday.
