Sealey-Medsker

Lauren Louise Sealey and Robert Scott Medsker were married at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2006, in Covenant Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C. The Rev. Andrew H. Henderson officiated. Susan Talley, organist, and the Charlotte Festive Brass quintet provided music.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Davis Sealey of Charlotte. She is a graduate of Charlotte Latin School, earned a bachelor of arts in international relations from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga., and her master’s in international communications from American University in Washington, D.C. She was executive director of The Hospitality and Information Service in Washington, D.C.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harold Medsker of Sullivan. He is a graduate of Sullivan High School, earned his AB in political science and rhetoric from Wabash College in Crawfordsville and his JD from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He has completed a federal appellate clerkship in Lincoln, Neb., and will work for the law firm of Jones Day at Washington, D.C.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Katherine Gardes of Baltimore, Md., the bride’s roommate, was honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Dana DeCore of Princeton, N.J., Mary Itz of Washington, D.C., Yessica Pawlowski of Lansing, Mich., and Kristin Strasser of Manlius, N.Y.

Brock Medsker of Sullivan, the bridegroom’s brother, was best man. Groomsmen were Clayton Sealey of Charlotte, the bride’s brother, and Stephen Brownback of Allentown, Pa., Gregory Jacobs of Towson, Md., and Rick Strasser of Manlius.

Ushers were Andrew Akin of Montgomery, Ala., Michael Einterz of Indianapolis, Kyle Falconi of Princeton, N.J., and Bleik Pickett of Washington, D.C.

Adrienne Capkovic and Sarah Isgur, both of Washington, D.C., were program attendants. Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. William Bowman, Mr. and Mrs. Kim Courter and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lawing, all of Charlotte.

A reception followed in Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte. Smitty Flynn and the Rivieras provided music.

The bridegroom’s parents were hosts of a rehearsal dinner in The Charlotte City Club and a cocktail reception for out-of-town guests in the Charlotte Marriott SouthPark.

A post-wedding day brunch in the Charlotte Marriott was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. William Bowman, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Burchette, Mr. and Mrs. Kim Courter and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lawing, all of Charlotte, and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hooper of Gastonia, N.C.

The couple took a wedding trip to Bermuda and now reside in Lincoln, Neb. After a year, they will return to Washington, D.C.



Kesler-Luken

Ashley Brooke Kesler and Gregory Keith Luken Jr. were united in marriage on Aug. 5, 2006, in the United Methodist Temple.

The Rev. Brian White officiated.

The bride is the daughter of John and Diane Kesler of West Terre Haute. She is a 2001 graduate of West Vigo High School, a 2005 graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She is employed by the Vigo County School Corp., where she teaches at Farrington Grove Elementary.

The bridegroom is the son of Greg and Terry Luken of Terre Haute. He is a 1998 graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo High School, and a contractor employed by the Providence Medical Group.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Madison Kesler, sister of the bride, and Sarah Norton, were honor attendants. Bridesmaids were Ann Herrington, cousin of the bride, Melissa Butrum, Brittany Byrd, Mandi Lasecki and Jessica Scholz.

Adam Luken, brother of the bridegroom, and Evan Luken were best men. Groomsmen were Trey Kesler, brother of the bride, Frank Smith, Rusty Lash, Quint Meneely and Derek Fell.

Junior bridesmaids were Taylor Davis and Ashley Huh. Junior groomsmen were Eian Luken, cousin of the bridegroom, and Damon Kesler, cousin of the bride.

Flower girls were Brooklyn Ophoff, cousin of the bridegroom, and Jordan Davis.

Ring bearers were Ethan Kesler, cousin of the bride, and Max Davis.

Josh Brackall, cousin of the bride, Bradley Kesler, cousin of the bride, Jason Shaffer, Craig Cottrell and R.D. Smith, all cousins of the bridegroom, were ushers.

Greeters were Kate Kesler and Jamie Struer, cousins of the bride.

A reception followed in the Terre Haute Country Club.

The couple took a wedding trip to Las Vegas and now reside in Terre Haute.
