Afdahl-Rice
Jennifer Belinda Afdahl and Lowell Rice of Oakland, Calif., were united in marriage at 7 p.m., June 16, 2007, at the University of Chicago. The Rev. Judy Brannan officiated.
The Rev. Lisa Smith was cantor, and Jessica Albert played trumpet and drums.
The bride is the daughter of Gordon and Linda Afdahl of Terre Haute. She has a master’s degree in social service administration and is a lending manager.
The groom is the son of Richard and Sandra Rice of Newark, Ohio. He has a master’s degree in public policy and is an associate director.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride’s attendants were Melissa Afdahl, sister of the bride, Penny Robinson, and Yung-yi Hsieh. The flower girl was Shannon Mevis.
The groom’s attendants were David Mevis, best man, Kaushik Shah and Craig Zemke.
Ushers were Charles Monroe and Conrad Endlich.
There was a reception at the University of Chicago Cloister Club.
The couple took a wedding trip to Hawaii.
Pink-Trent
Leah Michelle Pink and Rodney Scott Trent of Terre Haute were united in marriage at 6 p.m. July 7, 2007, at St. George Orthodox Social Center. A reception at St. George Center followed the ceremony.
The Rev. Colonel Larry Bartley officiated.
Tami Sontag was vocalist.
The bride is the daughter of John and Nancy Butters of Clay City. She has an associate’s degree in accounting and for seven years has been a self-employed caterer, a self-employed bookkeeper and a tax preparer with H&R Block’s Wabash Avenue office.
Trent is the son of Carl and Hilda Trent of Terre Haute. He has an associate’s degree in automotive technology and has been a trailer builder with Great Dane for 13 years.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The maid of honor was Brooke Lowe, the bride’s daughter. Bridesmaids were Lisa Turner and Andrea Henderson.
The best man was Richard Hann. Groomsmen were Dennis Henderson and Allen Turner. Ring bearer was Jaryd Lowe, a grandson.
A shower was given by Debbie Krueger, the groom’s aunt.
Feltner-Sellers
Maria Therese Feltner and Jeffrey Wayne Sellers of Terre Haute were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m., July 14, 2007, at the Ohio Building Casa Urbana Ballroom. A reception followed, also in the Ohio Building.
Doug Davis officiated.
Musicians were Jared Hancock on piano, Dan Rodriquez and Megan Kuesch were vocalists.
The bride is the daughter of Fred and Carole Feltner of Jasper. She graduated from Jasper High School in 1996, and earned a master’s degree in music from Indiana State University. She is a teacher with South Vermillion Community Schools.
Sellers is the son of Doug and Dana Sellers of Center Point. He is a 1995 graduate of Clay City High School and earned a bachelor of science degree from Indiana State University. He is a math teacher with Spencer-Owen Community School Corp.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The maid of honor was Kathy Powell. Bride attendant was Trina Francis. Flower girls were Lauren Fischer, Mikaela Powell, Emelia Fischer, Krista Edington, Nadia Fischer and Morgan Tincher.
David Mercer was best man. Groomsman was Kevin Sellers. The ring bearer was Christian Sellers.
Ryan South and Jacob South were ushers.
The couple took a wedding trip to Cosby, Tenn.
