Cornhole Sept. 19 to benefit THFD program

Apartment Owners and Managers Association of Terre Haute plans a cornhole tournament Thursday to benefit the Terre Haute Fire Department’s “Protect the Precious” program.

The association’s team will compete against the THFD team at the 5:30 p.m. event at Charlies Pub & Grub at 1608 Crawford St.

Spectators are encouraged. All proceeds from T-shirt sales, a 50/50 drawing and a donation bowl will benefit the THFD’s efforts to provides free smoke detectors or replacement batteries to local residents in need.

The goal is to raise $2,000 to help raise awareness of the importance of smoke alarms.
