MARSHALL, ILL. —
The Evening Thyme Garden Club will present the 15th annual garden fair from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday at Clark County Fairgrounds in Marshall, Ill., with free parking and admission.
The first 50 fairgoers will receive potted geraniums by visiting the Evening Thyme Garden Club’s booth under the grandstand. While there, visitors can enter to win the grand raffle prize, a gardener’s “bouquet” of an unusual, decorative, swirled-iron plant holder with a plant included, plus a gift certificate to Fruitridge Gardens.
Tickets are $1 or six for $5 and can be purchased rom any club member or at the fair. Other donated prizes will be given away every half hour during the day, and people are entered in the drawings by purchasing raffle tickets.
Favorite vendors are returning, along with additions: Carol Warner with hanging baskets from Fruitridge Gardens of Terre Haute; Nancy Rhodes of Marshall with glass yard ornaments; the Family Fudge Co. of Brazil, for the gardener with a sweet tooth; Leslie Wallace and Mark Green offering vintage-look trellises, towers and antiques; and potter John Graves from Greenup.
Fairgoers can count on an assortment of vegetables, annuals, flowering shrubs, yard art, planters, lawn sculptures, daylilies, irises and perennials for sale. Food, drink and desserts will also be available.
The Evening Thyme Garden Club is a not-for-profit organization. Proceeds from the fair will go to support the club’s many projects, including the Martie Cantrell Memorial Scholarship, Butterfly Project at North Elementary, and the plantings and upkeep at the Water Tower Park and Post Office.
Additional vendors are still welcome. For more information, call 217-826-2461 or 217-826-8857.
