TERRE HAUTE —
Those who are looking for a way to give back to the community and have fun at the same time are invited to attend a volunteer orientation session at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum from 4 to 5:30 p.m. June 10. The Terre Haute Children’s Museum is located at the corner of Eighth Street and Wabash Avenue in downtown Terre Haute.
Volunteers are needed to fill a variety of roles this summer, including working the exhibit floor, assisting in the science store/admission desk, helping with building maintenance/cleaning, and volunteer opportunities are numerous and flexible enough to fit all talents and schedules.
“We are seeking motivated, responsible and engaging volunteers over the age of 17 who are willing to make a week-long commitment to help the museum,” said Abby Koester, summer camp coordinator. “Volunteers can sign up to work a single week of camp, or they are welcome to join us for several camps over the course of the summer.”
Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to attend the volunteer orientation session to complete a volunteer application, to get a brief overview of the museum, and to learn about the volunteer opportunities that are available.
Those who would like to complete the volunteer application before the orientation can download the application online at thchildrensmuseum.com. For more information about the Volunteer Orientation Session or volunteering at the museum, please contact Jamie McDowell at 812-235-5548.
