United Way of the Wabash Valley seeking review team volunteers for 2013

TERRE HAUTE — The United Way of the Wabash Valley is seeking review team volunteers for the Community Impact Process for 2013. United Way funds are distributed to programs of our partner not-for-profit health and human service agencies that provide services to people within a six-county area (Clay, Vigo, Vermillion, Parke and Sullivan counties in Indiana, and Clark County in Illinois).

Volunteers with the FY2013 community impact process will help determine where raised funds for health and human services are spent in the Wabash Valley. Volunteers will participate on a review team that will evaluate several health and human service programs within the community. Volunteers make all funding decisions, as well as policies. Responsibilities would begin in early 2013.

All meetings will occur after 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

• Jan. 8-9: Review team orientations to review United Way funding process. (For all volunteers, choose one.)

• Jan. 10-15: Individual team program preview meetings (each team meets once during this time period to preview their programs to be reviewed before the first scheduled visit and review).

• Jan. 16 to Feb. 15: Actual agency visits, team reviews of agency programs and wrap-up meetings (team members will be assigned specific agencies within their assigned impact area and visit and observe programs informally during hours of program operation. Actual reviews of the program take place after the agency visit on another date. Dates are flexible. The entire time period will likely not be needed.)

• March 11-13: Agency program appeal meetings (if necessary).

Those interested in volunteering should visit to complete a Conflict of Interest Form. Go to “Community Impact” and find the Conflict of Interest Form there in the drop-down menu. Submit it online by Oct. 31.

For more information contact Mark Johnson in the United Way office at 812-235-6287.
