Vigo County 4-H Open House coming up in March

News Release

TERRE HAUTE — 4-H Youth Development is a great way to meet new friends and give back to the community. 4-H is the largest youth organization in the nation. Members of 4-H work with adult and teen volunteers to learn and build skills that will help them become better people. More than 50 4-H projects offer something for everyone.

A Vigo County 4-H Open House will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 2 at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds in the Floriculture Building/Community Center. The open house allows people to enroll in the program, learn more about each project and visit with current 4-H members and volunteers.

4-H club-based programs are open to students in grades three through 12. Mini 4-H is available for first- and second-grade students at no cost. Be a part of club meetings, tours, trips, camps, fairs and scholarships.

The yearly enrollment fee is $15 ($45 maximum per family). Additional costs depend on select projects. Financial assistance is available. Enrollment forms can be found at schools in January or at Visit the Vigo County Extension office at 275 Ohio St.; call or email Krista Farthing or Sarah Gaughan at (812) 462-3371, or; or visit to learn more.
