Marie Cunningham celebrates 95th birthday

TERRE HAUTE — Marie K. Cunningham of Terre Haute will celebrate her 95th birthday on May 5, 2013, during an open house from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in the activity room of Cannon Inn.

A party with cake, coffee and punch is planned.

Cunningham was born May 28, 1918, in Gresham, Neb., to William E. and Amelia S. Steele, and married John L. Cunningham on Oct. 12, 1935. She and her late husband had two children, Rogene (Revis) Brazle of Ladoga and Doug (Debi) Cunningham of Pekin, Ill. She now has four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Cunningham retired in 1979 as a cafeteria baker at Terre Town Elementary School after 14 years of service with the Vigo County School Corp. She also was a volunteer head cook for five years at Maplewood Christian Church Sunshine Center. She now worships at North Side Christian Church.
