Rox Alumni gets nonprofit approval

The Rockville Alumni Foundation, Inc. has been approved by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public nonprofit organization.

Donations made to the organization will be tax–deductible. The approval is retroactive to June 27.

The organization provides members of the community and alumni of Rockville schools (including former members of the local community and alumni who no longer live in the area) an avenue to help with various Rockville and Parke County charitable causes.

Operating informally over the past eight years, its causes have included Campaign For Kids. To date this campaign has raised more than $7,000 for Rockville kids in need. The campaign generates funding for coats, shoes, back packs, school supplies and field trips for children each school year.

The foundation is actively seeking to help with other causes in the community. For more information, visit www.roxalumni.com.
