Two Wabash Valley women were awarded scholarships at the Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana Outstanding Teen pageants in Zionsville last month.

Brianna N. Stewart, Miss Crossroads to America Outstanding Teen 2013, was awarded the Kreating Hope Scholarship, a Miss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen scholarship, for serving her community. Stewart received a $250 scholarship for her passion and volunteering efforts for her platform of healthy living. The scholarship was awarded for the number of hours and service provided to her community through her platform work. She competed against 26 Outstanding Teen contestants. Stewart resides in Terre Haute with her parents Crysti and Dennis Stewart.

Presley T. Moreland, Miss Crossroads to America 2013, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship by the Miss America Organization for academic excellence. She is currently a dual student at Indiana State University and Vincennes University majoring in law enforcement. Moreland earned the scholarship by having the highest GPA, 4.0, among the 32 Miss Indiana contestants. She resides in Bicknell with her parents Cindy and Andy Moreland.

The pageants serve the counties of Vigo, Clay, Sullivan, Parke and Vermillion along with Wabash Valley universities.
