Terre Haute third in top adoption-’furriendlist’ cities

News Release

TERRE HAUTE — More than 15,600 pets were adopted during the recent PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend, which was staged May 3-5 in partnership with more than 2,000 local adoption groups at all PetSmart stores across the U.S.

The city of Terre Haute was named among the top adoption-“furriendlist” cities. Terre Haute ranked third among the local adoption partners who found the most homes for adoptable pets — 163 in total. Evansville also made the list, ranking No. 5 with 156 adoptions.

Albuquerque, N.M., topped the list with 288.

In addition to thousands of pets finding homes, PetSmart Charities rewarded local adoption partners with $35 in adoption-reward grants for every pet adopted at the event.

The next PetSmart Charities National Adoption Weekend is scheduled for Sept. 13-15. Stay up to date on the latest news by following PetSmart Charities on Facebook at www.facebook.com/PetSmartCharities and on Twitter at www.twitter.com/PetSmartChariTs.
