Melanie Davenport and Brett Korenski were married at an invitation-only wedding on Oct. 19, 2013.

The bride is the daughter of Dale and Melissa Davenport. She is a graduate of the Indiana Academy of Science, Mathematics and Humanities; and the Indiana University School of Dentistry. She is a dental hygienist.

The bridegroom is the son of Joe and Margaret Korenski. He is a graduate of North Vigo High School and Harrison College. He is an operations manager.

The couple will take a honeymoon to Hawaii, and then will reside in Terre Haute.

Ruggerio-Wenzel - Burton

Lindsey Michelle Ruggerio-Wenzel of Terre Haute and Matthew Lawrence Burton of West Terre Haute were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2013, at Faith Wesleyan Church in Terre Haute. The Rev. Michael Hester officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Jason and Catherine Wenzel of Terre Haute. The bridegroom is the son of Sherman and Anita Burton of West Terre Haute.

The bride was given away by her parents. The flower girl was Connor Wenzel, sister of the bride. The ring bearer was Riley Burton, son of the bride and bridegroom. The bride’s attendants included maid of honor Bethany Wenzel, sister of the bride; bridesmaid Lakin Smith, cousin of the bride; and junior bridesmaid Georgia Carlson, cousin of the bridegroom.

The bridegroom’s attendants were best man Justin Ruggerio, brother of the bride; groomsman Sean Burton, brother of the groom; and junior groomsman Alexander Young, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Blake Smith, cousin of the bride; and Jordan Ames, cousin of the groom.

A reception took place at the Local 841. The couple will reside in Terre Haute.


Betsie Joyce Jackson and Thomas James Roberts were united in marriage at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 7, 2013, at the Westside Community Church. The Rev. Chris Wilbur officiated.

The bride is the daughter of John and Judie Joseph and the late Bryan (Bub) Jackson. The groom is the son of Tom and Jackie Roberts.

The maid of honor was Jenny Woodcock. The bridesmaids were Dana Van Hook, Jessica Jackson, Ashley McCalister, Billi McNeill, Jenell Zigler and Leah Tislow.

The best man was Jeremy Keith. The groomsmen were Jason Fields, Rocky Jackson, Johnny Joseph, Steve Tuddy, Brian Chessir and Danny Switzer.

The flower girls were Chloe Roberts and Kendyl Mount. The ring bearers were Tommy Roberts III and Hudson Jackson. The guestbook attendant was Payton Strange. The ushers were Josh Joseph, Zach Mount, Logan Harris and Jackson Luna-McCrocklin.

The musicians were Trever Jackson and Eric Jackson. The photographer was Jessica Todd. The wedding coordinator was Karen Mills.

A reception followed in O’Shaughnessey Hall at St. Mary-of-the-Woods. Music at the reception was provided by The Flying Jacksons.

The couple took a trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn. They will reside in Terre Haute.


Michael Chad Steenerson of Terre Haute and Laura Suzanne Sommers, of Terre Haute and formerly of Goshen, were married July 27, 2013, at Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship in Goshen. The couple were united in marriage by the Rev. Mike Jupin.

Matrons of honor were the bride’s sisters, Hannah Sommers and Kathryn Sommers; and the maid of honor was the bride’s best friend, Sarah Tomlinson.

Groomsmen were the bridegroom’s brothers, Jonathan and Rian Steenerson; and the bride’s brother, Blair Jupin.

Readers were the bride’s mother, Roxanna Sommers; the bridegroom’s mother, Charlotte Steenerson; and the bride’s sister, Lorelei Jupin. The bride’s father, Karl Sommers, assisted with music. A video of the ceremony was taken by a friend of the bride and groom, Kortney Malone of Goshen.

A wedding celebration will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at the barn at Fowler Park in Terre Haute. Friends of the bride and bridegroom are welcome to attend.
