Learn about wills and trusts at educational inservice

TERRE HAUTE A free educational inservice “Last Will and Testimony” will be offered from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in classroom C on Tuesday and Oct. 27 at Vigo County Public Library at Seventh and Poplar streets.

The inservice is a 4-part program designed to provide resources so one can make informed choices regarding long-range planning. The two-day class will cover four specific parts.

Part one: Senior Law Instruction includes information about senior rights, Medicaid, Medicare, and senior living arrangements.

Part two: Asset Protection details health and life insurance, keys to successful investing, tax efficient transfers of wealth without a revocable trust and how to title assets to accomplish your goals.

Part three: Vital Documents to provide tools and instruction: This section will focus on wills and trusts and power of attorney’s. Participants will be instructed on living wills, funeral planning, and cremation and green burials.

Part four: Eternal Living Accommodations provides information to ensure peace of mind and offer information to ensure “post” life assurance.

Classes will be taught by Rick Brewster (Frisse and Brewster Law Offices — specializing in elder law); Terry Daniels (Hoosier Heartland Financial Services); Tami Edwards (Debaun Funeral Home), Rev. Budd Aplin (chaplain, Senior Education Ministries); Rev. Edgar Guy (associate chaplain, Senior Education Ministries); Elizabeth Robertson (Westminster Village/Davis Gardens); Angie Brewer (Southwood Health and Rehabilitation), Toni Garzolini (State Farm Insurance) and Janet Stavropoulos (attorney, Jones McGlasson & Benckart).

Refreshments will be provided. Upon completion of the two and a half day classroom presentation, participants will receive a certificate. Class will be offered quarterly in January, April, July and October on the last two Tuesdays of the month.
