Columns published in honor of Sentinel anniversary
Special to the Tribune-Star
ROCKVILLE —
In observance of the 175th Anniversary Celebration of The Parke County Sentinel, published in Rockville, the family of Dick Harney has published a second book of his columns titled “Not So Long Ago.”
Dick and Mary Jo Nash Harney moved to Rockville in 1970, buying The Rockville Tribune newspaper. He died in November 1999.
For copies of the book, write to The Parke County Sentinel, P.O. Box 187, Rockville, IN 47872.
The cost is $10, and if mailed, $12, which includes postage and handling. There are a few copies of his first book, “When we Were Young and Poor,” for $8 and $10 if mailed.
Both books reflect life both in Parke County and the earlier days in Elwood, and life in general.
