— Last Saturday’s game in the Terre Haute Bridge Center honored those players who had outstanding results at the bridge tables in the second quarter. Jim Gormong and Nancy Hanley were the king and queen. George Woodason topped the 999ers, Margie Kintz, the 299ers, and Jim Jennings, the 99ers. Jennings traveled to Indianapolis the next day and played in a stratified Swiss Team game. His team mates from our club were Dr. Jayesh Ramolia and Ann and Rick Kleinheksel. They bested all teams in their 299er division.
Reporting on 299er standings in the local club shows Margie Kintz in her familiar first-place position. The next three players are in a practical dead heat for second. They are Charles Parks, Carolyn Steinbaugh and Connie Shattuck. In striking distance are Joan Chervenko, Jim Jennings, Dr. Jayesh Ramolia and Mona Sternfeld. Sharon Mason heads the rest of the top 30: Arlene Luchsinger, Maggie Oyer, Marty Cornelius, Ann Kleinheksel, Susan McCarthy, Barbara Phelan, Jane Longfield, Dan Scott, Bob Logsdon, Mark Minar, Bill Scott, Alice Goodyear, Mel and Lucia Sinn, Elizabeth Parks, Pat Knauer, Gretchen Weston, Charles Bryan, Patty Cottom and Marjorie Raley.
Winners July 7-12:
Thursday morning Future Masters — first, Ruth Erickson and Maggie Oyer; second, Pat Knauer and Elizabeth Parks; third, Mel and Lucia Sinn; fourth, Bill Scott and Charles Bryan.
Monday, Club Championship — first, Floyd McWilliams and Fred Ervin; second, Jane Gormong and Don Lucas; third, Joan Chervenko and Pat Price; fourth, Mary Lunsford and Sharon Austin; fifth, Tana Holt and Sharon Winters; sixth, Carolyn Steinbaugh and David Fee; seventh, John Barnes and Alan Sackrider.
Tuesday — first, Jim Gormong and Don Florida; second, Laura Bright and Sharon Winters; third, Jane Gormong and Fred Ervin.
Wednesday — first, Mark Minar and Bob Logsdon; second, Janet Horton and Laura Bright; third-fourth, Nancy Hanley and Pat Price and George Woodason and Fred Ervin.
Thursday — first, Jim Jennings and Frank DeSanto; second, Sharon Strassler and Janet Horton; third, Jim and Jane Gormong.
Saturday, Honors game Championship — first, Janet Horton and Laura Bright; second, Joanna Hebermehl and Milt Van Reed; third, Tom Roberts and George Woodason; fourth, Margie Kintz and Frank DeSanto; fifth, Gretchen Weston and Carolyn Steinbaugh.
The following games will be played this week in the Bridge Center at 303 S. 14th St. Any bridge player is invited. Membership is not required. You become a voting member when you play 12 times in a year. There are no dues, initiation fees or assessments, ever. Just a modest playing fee when you decide to play, $5, sometimes a dollar more for special games. Our club is non-profit. Devoted to providing a pleasant place to enjoy the best card game ever. All open games this week are North American open pair games awarding half red and half black points to winners.
Monday: No morning game this week. Sharon Austin will be back next Monday. Our regular open game at 1 p.m. and fun bridge from 6:30 to 8:30 will be played tomorrow.

Wednesday: open game, 10 a.m.
Thursday: Future Masters, 9:30 a.m.; open game, 7 p.m.
