Summer theater workshops at Lincoln Trail accepting registrations

Registration is under way for Lincoln Trail College’s Children’s Summer Theater.

The theater workshop will be conducted from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday, June 3 to 28. Students entering grades one through nine this fall are invited to audition for roles in this summer’s production, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Performances will be at 7 p.m. June 28 and 29.

Advance auditions will be conducted from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for the roles of Joseph, the narrator(s), Pharaoh and brothers who want a solo. Only those students wanting the above-listed roles need to audition early. All students who sign up will be assigned parts. Auditions for remaining specific roles will be held the first day of the workshop, June 3.

Adults and high school-aged students interested in volunteering as crew members and helping with the workshop are eligible to receive college credit.

Cost for the four-week workshop is $100. Three scholarships to cover those costs are available for this summer program: one provided by the 2012 CST participants and their families, and two from Quality Housing (Larry & Phuong Quick). To apply, write a one-page essay explaining why you would like to be a scholarship recipient and submit to the Performing Arts Office by Tuesday.
