ISU play concentrates on river theme

News Release

TERRE HAUTE — The Indiana State University theater department continues its presentation of “Spoon River Anthology” today through Saturday beginning at 7:30 p.m. each day in the Dreiser Hall Theater. Tickets must be purchased in advance from the New Theater ticket office.

In this play created from Edgar Lee Masters’ anthology of free-verse poems, the dead emerge from their graves to speak about their lives.

Through their anguish, they reflect on their past loves, hopes and dreams. Meanwhile, unsuspecting living beings, alongside, celebrate the simple joys of life and love in song and dance.

ISU’s production of “Spoon River Anthology” will be directed by Arthur Feinsod and performed in partnership with the community semester series “Our Town” and the 2013 Year of the River celebrations.

Tickets are $10. ISU students get in free with a student ID. Prepaid tickets can be picked up at Dreiser Theater starting at 6:30 p.m. each night of the performance. The New Theater Ticket Office will be open from noon to 4:30 p.m. today and Friday.
