Cheerleading event to be broadcast April 10 at Showplace 12

Fathom Events and Nfinity Athletic will bring the ultimate cheerleading competition to the big screen as “Nfinity Champions League Cheerleading Event” somersaults into more than 650 select U.S. movie theaters April 10, including a showing at 7:30 p.m. in Showplace 12 at 3153 S. Third Place in Terre Haute.

Pre-recorded four days earlier, this exclusive one-night cinema event will feature action-packed routines showcasing acrobatics, gymnastics and dance from 30 of the country’s most elite cheerleading teams as they gather in Atlanta, for a three-day competition. They will vie for awards for Champion of the Senior All Girl teams, Champion of the Co-Ed teams and overall Grand Champion.

In a unique twist, the Grand Prize will be a donation to the winning team’s charity of choice. A portion of the registration fees also will benefit each team’s selected charity. After this year’s inaugural event in Atlanta, the competition will move to a different U.S. city each year.

“The Nfinity Champions League will be unlike any other event,” said Tate Chalk, founder and chief executive officer of Nfinity Athletic. “It will be the first time that the public will get a big screen glimpse into the captivating world of competitive cheerleading. We are thrilled and honored to be a part of such an influential moment in our industry.”

“Cheerleading fans are in for a real treat with the Nfinity Champions League,” said Shelly Maxwell, executive vice president of Fathom Events. “Whether those in the audience have been cheering for years or have never touched a pom pom, they’ll be amazed at what these young athletes can do.”

Tickets are available now at the Terre Haute theater box office and online at
