Auditions set for ‘God of Carnage’ Jan. 27-28

Community Theatre of Terre Haute will stage auditions for “God of Carnage,” a drama by Yasmina Reza, at 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. There are roles for two men and two women. Sharon Russell is the director. Performance dates are March 14-16 and 21-23, with rehearsals beginning shortly after auditions.

The drama won the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play. It relates an evening in the lives of two couples, residents of a Brooklyn neighborhood, who have come together to discuss a playground incident involving their children. Specifically, one couple’s son hit the other couple’s son in the face with a stick, resulting in two broken teeth. The four agree to discuss the incident civilly, but as the night wears on and drinks are imbibed, the polite veneer wears down.

Auditions will be conducted on the main stage of Community Theatre, 1431 S. 25th St. Contact the director at with questions.
