North golf wins second match of the week

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute North won its second match of the week in high school girls golf action Tuesday at Hulman Links.

The Patriots defeated North Knox 177-216. They were 180-217 winners over Greencastle on Monday at Windy Hills.

Both scores were season bests for the Patriots as they improved to 2-3.

Freshman Megan Ramer was medalist in Tuesday's match with a season-best 1-under-par 35. Carson Smith had 45, Alex Bryant 48 and Kelli Carney 49 for the Patriots.

Lexis Vieck was low scorer for the Warriors with 42.

The two teams will be in action again today, meeting in a triangular match with state-ranked Vincennes Rivet at the Country Club of Old Vincennes.

North will compete in the county match on Thursday at Rea Park for its fifth match in six days.

The Patriots and Terre Haute South both were in the Roncalli Invitational last Saturday and the match was called after nine holes due to rain.
