Linton’s Weber to coach at BNL

TERRE HAUTE — Bedford North Lawrence High School has announced that Steve Weber will be the Stars’ head coach for the 2013 season.

Weber has coached the past 13 seasons at Linton, where he compiled a 128-29 record and won four regional championships.

The Miners were 13-1 each of the past two seasons, coming within a game of the Class A state final in 2011 and within a foot of the Class A state final in an overtime loss in 2012.

Weber could not be reached for comment.

Postponements

More cancellations and postponements were reported to the Tribune-Star on Friday:

n Terre Haute South’s home girls tennis match against Plainfield and its softball game at Shakamak have been canceled.

n Northview’s baseball game at Owen Valley will be played May 17.

n Marshall’s baseball game with Robinson has been postponed until today.

n Turkey Run 10, Covington 0 — At Marshall, Ind., Jeff Woods pitched a two-hit shutout and scored four times for the Warriors in Wabash River Conference play.
