PREP ROUNDUP: North tennis takes runner-up in MIC

South girls place fourth

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute North defeated Center Grove and Lawrence Central on Saturday before losing 5-0 to Carmel in the championship match of the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference high school tennis championships.

Terre Haute South finished fourth.

North 4, Center Grove 1

Singles — Hannah Rudolph (THN) def. Jillian Fledderman 6-1, 6-4; Priya Dave (CG) def. Meredith Egan 6-1, 6-3; Laura Mascari (THN) def. Katelyn Gray 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles — Samantha Dougherty-Caroline Potter (THN) def. Kaitlyn Walsh-Kaligh Hardin 6-4, 6-3; Molly Farmer-Kyla Jarvis (THN) def. Kim Spindler-Rachel Gravens 6-1, 6-3.

Carmel 5, South 0

n Braves second — At Indianapolis, Terre Haute South placed second Saturday in the Indianapolis North Central Invitational at Coffin Golf Course.

Drew Cahill, Ryan Cahill and Darin Pemberton all shot 78s for the Braves.
