Metro roundup: Rose men win seventh straight HCAC track title




Strength tested — At the Union Hospital CrossFit & Sports Performance Facility, 33 competitors pushed and pulled their way to awards during the Union Hospital Center for Fitness and Performance Bench/Squat/Deadlift Challenge on Saturday afternoon.

The meet’s “Overall Best Male Lifter” award went to Phil Doblestein. Competing at a bodyweight of 211 pounds, he lifted 385 pounds in the bench press, 565 pounds in the deadlift and 515 pounds in the squat.

231-264.9 — Bench press: Tyler Chew 405. Deadlift: Taylor Pinnick 515. Squat: Pinnick 445.

265 and above — Bench press: Mitch Petty 450. Deadlift: Petty 605. Squat: Petty 605.

Overall Best Male Lifter — Phil Doblestein (211 pounds) did a 385 bench press, 565 deadlift and 515 squat.


Winners shoot 55 — At the Country Club of Terre Haute, three teams shot 55 in the Soggy Donut tournament Friday.

Mike Roshel, George Amies, Ian Carson and Dayton Huebner were on the top team.
