PREP ROUNDUP: South wins boys tennis regional semi

GREENCASTLE — Playing indoors at DePauw University’s tennis facility because of rain Tuesday, Terre Haute South earned the right to advance into today’s IHSAA regional championship match by blanking Crawfordsville 5-0 in the semifinal round.

Meanwhile, Fountain Central defeated Northview 4-1 in the other semifinal match, which took place at Crawfordsville. Singles and doubles results from that match were not available to the Tribune-Star.

That means South and Fountain Central will square off for the regional title at 4:45 p.m. today at Crawfordsville High School.

In the state singles tournament, Terre Haute North senior Tate Egan knocked off Greencastle’s Landon Miller 6-0, 6-0 at DePauw. Egan (17-4) will play again today at 4:45 p.m. at Crawfordsville, weather permitting.

Singles — Nathan Bogle (THS) def. Dane Baldwin 6-1, 6-0; Krishan Kumar (THS) def. Seth Lewis 6-1, 6-1; Alex Barksdale (THS) def. Amit Nag 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles — Scott Kellar-Reed Crawford (THS) def. Logan Hayes-George Go 6-3, 6-3; Luke Yeagley-Trace Harruff (THS) def. Juan Huesca-Tanner Laughlin 6-1, 6-0.

Next — South (14-3) will take on Fountain Central for the regional championship at 4:45 p.m. today at Crawfordsville.

Girls

• West Vigo 18, Paris (Ill.) 37 — At West Vigo, Acetha Tolerson finished first individually (23 minutes, 15 seconds) and helped the Vikings finish their regular season with a victory.
