Another Sycamore honored — For the third consecutive week, a member of the Indiana Stateteam has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

Sophomore outfielder Landon Curry received the award this week, according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday.

Curry went 6 for 18 (.333) during Indiana State’s four games last week, picking up two doubles and one stolen base. He had a hit in all three games at Illinois State last weekend, including five hits during Saturday’s doubleheader.

He ranks fourth in the conference with 15 stolen bases this season.

This week’s selection marks the third consecutive week and fifth time this season overall that an ISU player has earned the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week award. Redshirt senior Koby Kraemer (April 10/April 17) had been selected the previous two weeks, while senior Devin Moore (March 27) and Curry (March 20) earned back-to-back selections last month.

In the classroom, the Uniondale native carries a 3.81 grade-point average while majoring in business.
